How do I merge contacts?

Merging contacts is easy in Cloze. In general, Cloze will merge contacts for you automatically as needed so you shouldn't have to merge contacts often. If contacts have the same email address or the same mobile number, they will be merged automatically

Here are some instructions if you would like to manually merge contacts.

Merge in the People section

1.) Tap on People

2.) Search for the people you would like to merge together into one contact.

3.) Then tap on the checkmark next to each person and tap on the Merge icon.

Note: once you tap on the checkmark for the first contact you can change your search criteria to find others. After you tap on the checkmark of the second contact the merge option will appear at the bottom of the screen.

4.) Tap on the checkmark at the bottom.

5.) Tap on Merge.

6.) Confirm the merge.

Merge by editing the contact

You can also merge contacts by adding an overlapping email or mobile phone number on the contact profile. After adding the same email or mobile phone number to each personCloze will then merge these two records.

For example, if you have two contacts you would like to merge:

Contact A

  • Adam Smith
  • adam.smith@cloze.com

Contact B

  • Adam Smith
  • adam@companyname.com

Simply add adam@companyname.com to Contact A. Both Contact A and B will now be merged:

  • Adam Smith
  • adams@cloze.com
  • adam@companyname.com

To edit a contact and add the additional email:

1.) Tap on any contact photo and the contact profile will open. Then tap on Edit.

From here you may edit existing information or add new contact details.

Adding new contact information

When adding new information please tap the plus (+) symbol to add new contact information and then tap on Save in the upper right of the screen when you are finished.

2.) Tap on Contact Info.

3.) Tap on the plus (+) symbol to add an email address. Add the email and then select the Type.

4.) Tap on Save.
