An App ID is the source of the contact information that is being imported into Cloze. Think of the App ID as a way of identifying the specific application sending Cloze information about a contact. The App ID is used in combination with the Unique ID. The pair of App ID and Unique ID together helps Cloze identify a person uniquely so that each time information is imported from this source application it is automatically matched to the right person in Cloze.
Here are a few examples:
When sending Leads from salesforce.com to Cloze:
Source App ID = salesforce.com
Source Person Unique ID = Lead ID (salesforce.com’s unique lead identifier)
For example if the Lead ID for a new Lead sent from Salesforce to Cloze is "00Qj000000A4m38" then the combination of the App ID of salesforce.com and Lead ID of 00Qj000000A4m38 will ensure we always merge any update to this Salesforce record with the correct person in Cloze.
When sending new Mailchimp subscribers to Cloze:
Source App ID = mailchimp.com
Source Person Unique ID = Web ID (Mailchimp’s unique contact identifier)
For example if the Web ID for a new subscriber is sent from Mailchimp to Cloze is "122894241" then the combination of the App ID of mailchimp.com and Web ID of 122894241 will ensure we always merge any update to this Mailchimp record with the correct person in Cloze.
