How do I create a role that allows independent customization by a team member?
Platinum Feature: Custom Roles are available with the Cloze Business Platinum Plan.
Cloze Team Administrators can assign permissions to a group of Users by using Custom Roles. Examples of Custom Roles could be Administrators, Managers, Members or Staff.
Each of these Roles has its own different set of Permissions, i.e. actions they can or cannot perform, Cloze areas they can or cannot access, etc.
Cloze offer a role permission that allows for a team member that is assigned this custom Role to maintain their own customizations. Once assigned the "Independent Customization" permission the user will then managed their own customizations. Team customizations are not shared with them going forward.
This permission is helpful on Cloze teams where the team members operate independently and standardized settings, custom fields, Segments and Next Step workflows are not required.
To create a custom role with this permission please follow the instructions below.
1.) Tap on More (...) in the lower right of your screen on mobile (iOS/Android) and lower left on cloze.com.
2.) Tap on Settings
3.) Tap on My Team to expand the section.
Then tap on the Edit button next to Settings and Access Control and toggle on any options to which you would like your Team to have access.
4.) Tap on Add New Role.
You can then toggle on (or off) the various permissions you wish to grant to this new Role. Below is a list of the categories of permissions you may assign.
We recommend naming the Role such that is clear this role is independent. For example "Independent Customization" or "Independent Member" or "Detached Member".
5.) Scroll down and toggle on permission as needed.
Important: You will need to enable permissions in the "Customization" and "Customization Sharing" sections.
Permissions are broken down into the following categories:
- View and Edit Team Content
- Sub Team Visibility
- Assignment and Notification
- Analytics
- Import / Export
- Invitations
- Security and Compliance
- Sharing Defaults
- Sharing Policy
- Sharing Override
- Billing
- Manage Your Team
- Customization
- Customization Sharing
6.) In the "Customization" and "Customization Sharing" sections enable the following settings.
The following four permissions must be enabled to give the team member the ability to independently customize their Cloze account:
- Customize Business - Customize business segments, steps, and custom fields in their account
- Customize Steps - Allow users to customize business segment steps for their account only
- Customize Keep In Touch - Allow users to customize business segment keep in touch for their account only
- Independent Customization - The user manages their own customizations. Team customizations are not shared with them
