What are App Links and how do they work with Zapier?

App Links allow you to tap or click on a link inside a Cloze contact profile and go directly to the equivalent contact or piece of information in another application. For example you may want to use Zapier to connect your customer service software to Cloze to log all support tickets in Cloze. With an App Link you can respond to the ticket in another system with a single tap. The App Link will make sure you can go directly to the appropriate support ticket.

When creating a Zap in Zapier you’ll often want to include an App Link so it is easy to find a person or piece of information in another applications.

There are two types of Source App Link URLs that you can setup in Zapier:
1.) Person - for example a link to directly to a person in another application
2.) Content - for example a link to directly to a message in another application

Both will also need a name that will displayed in Cloze.

Source App Link Name. The App Name is a human readable name to an external application containing person information (such as Groove or Salesforce or Mailchimp). This name will appear in the Cloze.

Source App Link URL (person example).  This is an App Link can be set to direct you to a specific contact in another system. In this example the App Link when clicked will direct you to a specific lead in the CRM tool, Salesforce.com.

Source App Link URL (content example). This an App Link can be set to direct to specific piece of content in another system. In this example the App Link when clicked will direct you to a specific support ticket in an a customer service tool called Groove.
