Cloze Call and Text Sync App Diagnostics Tool

The Call and Text Sync App Diagnostics tool helps troubleshoot connectivity issues between your iPhone and your computer. As part of the diagnostics, we'll have you start by connecting your iPhone to your computer. You'll need a USB (lightning) cable for this step.

1.) Open the Cloze Call and Text Sync App.

On a Windows computer

1.) Click on the Cloze icon in the menu bar.

If the icon is  not showing in the toolbar, click on the up arrow and then the Cloze logo.

On a Mac computer

2.) Click on "Wi-Fi" to run the diagnostics.

3.) Connect your iPhone to your computer with a USB (lightning) cable. 

In the next step, you'll need a USB (lightning) cable. This is the same cable you use to charge your iPhone. 

If your iPhone is not connected to your computer, you'll need a USB cable. 

Depending on your computer and the model of your iPhone you will use one of these types of cables to connect your iPhone to your computer. This is typically the same cable you charge your phone with. 

Use the USB cable to connect your iPhone to your computer. And then click on the Check Connection button. 

4.) Enter your IP Address

If the Cloze Call and Text Sync app connects via the USB cable successfully it will then attempt to discover your IP Address and enter it for you automatically. 

If your IP cannot be automatically discovered you will need to enter it. 

On your iPhone open the iOS Settings app.

 Select Wi-Fi. 

Tap on the "i" symbol beside your connected Wi-Fi network and find the IP Address. 

Scroll down to find your IP address. 

4.) Enter the IP address you found in Step 4 on the screen below and tap on the Next button. 

4.) Unlock your iPhone and then tap on the Run Tests button

Make sure it does not sleep during the test[and keep your iPhone connected to your Mac or PC using a lightning cable]. 

USB

If everything looks good on the USB connection you will click on next to proceed to test Wi-Fi. 

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from your iPhone
  2. Unlock your iPhone and make sure it stays awake
  3. then click on the Run Tests button

If you forget to unlock your iPhone or forget to disconnect the USB cable from your phone you'll see a warning message.  

  1. Disconnect the USB cable from your iPhone
  2. Unlock your iPhone and make sure it stays awake
  3. then click on the Next button

Wi-Fi

Once your iPhone is unlocked and the USB cable disconnected you can click on the Try Again button to test on Wi-Fi.

When the sync is about to start you'll see a push notification on the lock screen of your iPhone.

When the sync begins Apple requires you to enter your passcode to trust your computer. Once you enter your passcode your calls and texts will sync to Cloze. 

On your computer, you will then see the Call and Text Sync App begin syncing.  

Reading the results of the diagnostics

Look for these symbols as you walk through the diagnostic tool steps:

Please review the tips provided if you see an issue. Next to the "i" symbol you'll see suggested changes you can make to successfully connect.

Below are several examples of issues and their resolution. 

If you see, "Everything's looking good on USB" you can click on the Next button to connect via Wi-Fi. 

Disconnect the cable and then click on the OK button to test the Wi-Fi connection.

If everything looks good over Wi-Fi you can proceed with syncing over Wi-Fi.

If everything looks good over Wi-Fi you can click on the Sync Now button to start your sync.

Issues

As you run the diagnostics you may see it discover some issues. Please review each error and make adjustments.

Your iPhone is locked.

Your iPhone and computer are not on the same Wi-Fi network.

To sync, your iPhone must be on the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.

As a first step, we recommend checking to make sure both your computer and iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network. 

In this example, both the computer and iPhone are on the same Wi-Fi network called "4588T".

 

This computer cannot contact your iPhone.

  • Check that your router and personal firewall allow the Bonjour protocol.
