How do I export an EML file?
If you are getting ready to use Cloze's lead capture feature or are creating a new lead capture you will need examples of lead notification emails. Lead notification emails include key information like the lead's name, email address, phone number, and other details related to their inquiry. This information can be extracted from the lead inquiry email and added to Cloze automatically.
Please follow the instructions below to download examples of the lead emails you wish to capture in a format called EML.
Important: A single lead source may have many different types of content so we highly recommend downloading all variations of the lead information you wish to capture. For example, some examples may not include all of the information (like a phone number is missing) or leads may include data that you wish to map to custom fields (like a Postal Code). In order to fully test your lead capture you will need a wide variety of examples that account for these scenarios.

What is an EML file?
EML, which stands for "Electronic Mail," is a type of computer file used to save emails. Imagine it like a container that holds all the information about an email message.
Inside an EML file, you'll find:
- Who Sent It: This includes the email address of the person who sent the email.
- Who It's For: The email addresses of the people receiving the email.
- Subject: A short description of what the email is about.
- Message Text: The actual words in the email.
- Attachments: Any files, like pictures or documents, that are included with the email.
- Formatting: How the email looks, like bold or italic text.
- When It Was Sent: The date and time the email was sent.
- Other Information: Technical stuff that helps the email get from one place to another on the internet.
People use EML files to save important emails or move them between different email programs. For example, if you want to keep a copy of an important email forever, you can save it as an EML file. Also, if you switch from one email program to another, you can use EML files to move your old emails to the new program.
So, in simple terms, EML is a way to save and move emails around on computers.
In Cloze we use them for setting up lead capture.
