How do I remove an email account?
Follow these instructions to disconnect an email account from Cloze. All email services (e.g. Gmail, Microsoft 365 Outlook, iCloud etc...) use these steps to remove an account.
Tips:
- You can remove all of the messages completely.
- Or elect to keep the message history.
- Cloze is not an email backup service. Email messages and attachments are retrieved from your email account as you view them in Cloze.
- If you elect to keep the history, once the account is disconnected only the subject and the first few sentences are stored in Cloze (this can help provide context, but the full message and attachments will no longer be accessible).
- If you are migrating email services (e.g. from Exchange to Microsoft 365 or Microsoft 365 to Google) select the Remove and Keep History option (see below for instructions).
1.) Click on the More Options menu (...) and select Settings.
- Tap on More in the lower left on your computer (cloze.com).
- Select Settings.
2.) Click on Connected Accounts to expand the section. Tap on the gear icon and select the email account you wish to remove.
- Tap on Connect Accounts to expand the section
- Tap on the gear icon next to the account you wish to remove.
3.) Remove the email account.
Scroll down to the Remove Account section at the bottom of the menu. You will see two options:
- Remove and Cleanup - select this option to remove the email messages (and other items, if available, like calendar entries) from this account. Note the contacts will remain.
- Remove and Keep History - select this option to keep a summary of messages, calendar entries, and other information from this account.
- If you are migrating email services (e.g. from Google to Microsoft 365) select Remove and Keep History.
