You can sync your Cloze contacts to your phone, tablet or desktop so you can use them from any app. Cloze publishes contacts using CardDav so you never have to worry about conflicts or data getting overwritten by other apps.

To sync your Cloze contacts using CardDav with Microsoft Outlook please follow these instructions.

Note: Microsoft Outlook does not support CardDav natively so another piece of software is required. You can use any CardDav utility that connects to your Outlook, but we've tested OpenProtocols Connector and have documented it below.

1.) First you are going to create an API Key in Cloze for use with CardDav.

Open Cloze and then tap on More (...) in the lower right of your screen on or in the lower right of your screen on iOS/Android.

2.) Tap on Settings

3.) Scroll down to the Cloze Pro section and Tap on API Key to expand the section and tap on the Add button.

4.) For each API Key you can add a label. Please enter label like "Cloze CardDav for Outlook".

This is helpful when you want to know which key is being used for each app you connect. It also useful if you need to delete or temporarily remove access to a key.

Note: This API Key is your password when connecting Cloze via CardDav.

5.) Copy the API Key you just created. You will use this as your password in the next step.

6.) Download and install OpenProtocols Connector.

Note: Please follow their on screen instructions. You will need to restart Outlook when you are done

7.) Now return to Outlook to connect Cloze CardDav to Outlook using OpenProtocols.

OpenProtocols provides documentation for Outlook 2010 and 2013. The instructions below are for Outlook 2016. The steps are very similar in each version.

8.) Select the File menu item and click the Account Settings button under the Account Information heading and then click on the "Email Accounts" button.

9.) Click on " New..." and then Other.

10.) Select Other and the Open Protocols Calendar/Contacts Service option, then select Next.

11.) On the General tab, enter in your credentials.

User / Email: your Cloze username (the email address you use to log into Cloze).

Password: paste in the Cloze API key you just created in Cloze.

12.) On the DAV tab, enter in the server information.

Protocol: Select CardDAV from the dropdown menu.

CardDAV Server:

Port Number: 443

13.) Click on the Finish button and then restart Outlook.

14.) Return to Cloze and go back to More > Settings > Scroll down and tap on Contact Sync to expand the section.

Under "Sync Cloze Contacts to Other Apps" toggle on the Relationship Types (Customer, Partners, Suppliers, Friends, Family etc..) and Cloze Lists you wish to sync with your device.

Your Cloze Contacts are now available in Outlook.
