How do I create a custom field?
Cloze offers Custom Fields to help you add an additional level of detail for your People, Companies, and Properties (or Projects / Deals).
When enabled, Custom Fields appear below the Relationship section for People and Companies (a) and below the Property (or Project / Deal) Status section. Custom Fields can be organized into Custom Sections (b).
How to create a new Custom Field:
1.) Tap on the More Options menu (...) and then select Settings.
Mobile:
- Tap on More in the lower right of your screen on mobile (iOS/Android).
- Select Settings.
On your computer:
2.) Scroll down to the Customizations section and tap on Custom Fields to expand the section. Tap on the gear icon next to the section where you wish to add or edit Custom Fields.
You can create and edit Custom Fields for People, Companies, and Properties (or Projects, Deals, Sales, etc).
3.) Along the top of the screen:
- Tap on the Add button.
- Tap on Field.
4.) Creating a New Field:
- Name your custom field.
- Select the Data Type from the dropdown.
In this example, we have selected "Text" for a new field called "Account ID". This field will contain a mix of letters and numbers so the Text Data Type is best.
5.) Tap on "People", "Companies", or "Properties" to select where you would like your new field to appear. You can choose one or all of them.
In this example, the "Account ID" field will appear on profiles in the People and Companies tabs, but not appear on the Properties tab.
6.) After choosing which sections(s) the field will appear in:
- Filtering: Enabling the "Filtering" option means that you will be able to filter by this custom field.
- Group By: Once you enable "Filtering", the "Group By" option will appear. Enabling the "Group By" option will allow you to use this as a way to group your information in the Kanban view.
- Mandatory: Enabling "Mandatory" means that you need to enter a value into the custom field. An action item will appear if it is not filled in.
7.) Next, you can select the Segments and Stages where you would like your new Custom Field to appear. Tap on the funnel icon to make your selection and then tap on OK.
8.) Tap on Save when you are done.
After you tap Save, you can rearrange the custom field by tapping and holding the field, then dragging it to a new position.
