How do I import Projects with App Links into Cloze?
App Links allow you to tap on a link inside a Cloze Project or Deal and go directly to the equivalent in another application. You can add these links while importing Project or Deals from another system.
For example you may want to import your Opportunities from another CRM. Or import your Projects from another Project Management tool to Cloze. With an App Link included in your import file you can go directly from the Cloze Deal or Project to the equivalent Deal or Project in your CRM or project management software.
Scroll to the bottom of this entry to see an example of how to import a CSV spreadsheet with App Links included.
When you create an App Link there are four pieces of information you will enter:
1.) App ID
An App ID is the source of the information or service that is being linked to Cloze. Think of the App ID as a way of identifying the specific application sending Cloze information about a contact. The App ID is used in combination with the Unique ID.
- The App ID must be a domain: The source must be in the format of a domain and in all lower-case. E.g. salesforce.com or asana.com.
- Please do not change the App ID once it is set: This value is important and should not be changed once determined.
2.) Unique ID
The Unique ID is the number or identifier that is used in the system you are linking to. The pair of App ID and Unique ID together helps Cloze identify a Deal or Project uniquely.
Below is an example:
When importing Opportunities from salesforce.com to Cloze:
App ID = salesforce.com
Unique ID = Opportunity ID (salesforce.com’s unique Opportunity identifier)
For example if the Opportunity ID for an Opportunity imported from Salesforce to Cloze is "006j000000Pkp1d" then the combination of the App ID of salesforce.com and Opportunity ID of 006j000000Pkp1d will ensure we always merge any update to this Salesforce record with the correct Deal in Cloze. So you can import the same file again and without creating duplicates.
3.) App Name
The App Name is a human readable name to an external application containing (such Salesforce or Asana). This name will appear in the Cloze.
4.) App URL
When you click on this link you will be directed to a Deal or Project in another system. Think of this as a shortcut that will take you from Cloze to another system.
