How do I Test Lead Capture? (Test Case Emails)

You can test lead capture by uploading sample .eml files from your lead source. This lets you see what information Cloze is pulling in, check that everything is going to the right place, and spot anything that needs fixing. Depending on the information you need to capture, you may need to add new rules or edit existing rules. Please see this article to learn more about each type of rule.

  1. After you have added your lead source, on the "Capture Behavior" screen, tap on "Edit" next to "Test Cases".

  1. Tap on "Add" to upload an .eml file as a test case. Upload the file and then tap on Done.

  1. Continue uploading test cases, as needed, and then tap on Done.
    1. 2-3 test cases should be enough unless the format of the lead source differs.

  1. Tap on "Test" next to "Run Tests".

  1. The first screen you will see is the Output. This shows the information that Cloze pulled in from the lead source .eml.

  1. Tap on Test Case to switch between the .emls that you uploaded.

  1. After selecting a different test case:
    1. Output - Tap on Output to see the information Cloze pulled in
    2. Warnings - Tap on Warnings to see if there are any errors with the lead source. We will explain if there are elements missing or what needs to be adjusted.

  1. If you do not see all of the information you were expecting to be captured listed on the Output page, you will need to adjust your parsing rules. Tap on Accept to return to the Capture Behavior screen where you can edit the parsing rules.

  1. Tap on "Edit" next to "Parsing Rules".

  1. When viewing the rules, the right side will show you the informaiton that Cloze is pulling in from the .eml file.
    1. Test Case - Tap on test case to switch between the different test cases (.eml files) you have uploaded.
    2. Parsed - Tap on Parsed to see what the rules are pulling out.

  1. Depending on the information you need to capture, you may need to add new rules or edit existing rules. Please see this article to learn more about each type of rule.

  1. If you do not need to add or edit your rules, tap on Done and then Save.
