Setup the Cloze Call and Text Sync App for iOS (Mac - iCloud)
Automatic call tracking is included with all Cloze premium plans.
Automatic text tracking is included with Business Gold and Business Platinum.
Learn how to sync your iPhone calls and texts with Cloze using your Mac—so every interaction is automatically logged to your contacts. If you have an iPhone and are using a PC running Windows please follow these instructions.
Before You Start
Make sure:
- Your iPhone and Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network
- You’re signed into the same Apple ID on both devices
- Your Mac is running a recent version of macOS (at least Sonoma or Sequoia). Learn how to find out what macOS you have and how to update it.
Download the App on your Mac
1.) Download the Cloze Call and Text sync app on your Mac.
2.) In your Downloads folder, double-click the Cloze Call and Text Sync file.

3.) Drag the Cloze Call and Text Sync app icon into the Applications folder.

4.) Open the app.

5.) Walk through the steps to complete the setup.
Select the options you would like to see logged in Cloze.
- Call Summary - Log the date, time, and phone number of a phone call.
- Message Summary - Log the date, time, and phone number of a message.
- Message Content - Log message content in Cloze. Note that images, videos, and documents are not stored.
- Personal Message Content - If you'd prefer not to store message content from friends or family (contacts who are organized with a Personal Segment) in Cloze you can leave this unchecked. You can change this setting later if you wish.
- When you are done, tap on the Next button.

Next, you will adjust or confirm several settings on both your iPhone and Mac computer. Be sure to check off each item as you complete it.

Start on your iPhone
These changes are made in your iPhone settings, not settings in the Cloze Mobile App.

1.) Open your iPhone Settings.

2.) Search for "Messages" in the search bar at the bottom. (Or, scroll down, tap Apps, then Messages.)
3.) Tap on Messages.

4.) Tap on Text Message Forwarding (click here if you do not see Text Message Forwarding)

5.) Toggle ON your Mac.

Calls on Other Devices

1.) Return to your iPhone Settings.

2.) Search for "Phone" in the search bar at the bottom. (Or, scroll down, tap Apps, then Phone.)
3.) Tap on Phone.

4.) Tap on Calls on other Devices.

5.) Toggle ON Allow Calls on Other Devices and then toggle ON your Mac.

Wi-Fi Calling

1.) Return to Phone settings and tap on Wi-Fi Calling.

2.) Toggle ON Wi-Fi Calling. If you receive a pop-up to Enable Wi-Fi Calling, tap on Enable.

3.) Toggle on Add Wi-Fi Calling for Other Devices

Now that you have completed the iPhone settings changes, you can move on to your Mac settings. Make the changes below on your Mac.

Enable Full Disk Access
1.) On your Mac, open your System Settings.

2.) Under Privacy and Security, tap on Full Disk Access.

3.) Toggle ON Cloze Call and Text Sync

4.) When you enable full disk the Cloze Call and Text Sync app will need to be restarted. Tap Quit & Reopen.

5.) Reopen the Call and Text Sync app and continue to Enable Messages in iCloud.
Enable Messages in iCloud

On your Mac, open the Messages app.

1.) Tap on the Messages menu and then Settings.

2.) Tap on iMessage and then check the box next to Enable Messages in iCloud.

Enable FaceTime Calls and Wi-Fi Calling

On your Mac, open the FaceTime app

1.) Tap on FaceTime menu and then Settings.

2.) Confirm the Apple Account matches the same Apple ID your iPhone uses. If it does not match, tap on "Sign Out" and then sign in with the Apply ID your iPhone uses.
3.) If you see an Upgrade to Wi-Fi Calling button, click it and follow the instructions.

Complete the setup
1.) Make sure all items are checked and then tap on Next.

2.) Enter your phone number and tap OK.

You are done!
Your messages and calls will start syncing. The full will sync will take 15-20 minutes (sometimes longer if you have a lot of messages). You can close the window. Messages and calls will sync in the background automatically in the background.

Optionally, if you use WhatsApp please make sure to install WhatsApp on your Mac.

If you would like to automatically track WhatsApp calls and texts, the WhatsApp desktop app needs to be installed and running on your Mac. Once installed and running Cloze will track your calls and texts automatically.
