Adding and editing rules
How do I add or edit rules for lead capture?
What are parsing rules?
Parsing rules are what Cloze uses to automatically pull key information—like names, emails, phone numbers, and property details—from incoming messages. They help turn emails into organized leads in your Cloze account without you needing to copy and paste.
How do parsing rules work?
When a new lead email comes in, Cloze reads it using parsing rules and adds the contact and any related details (like listing price or property address) into the right place.
Why are parsing rules important?
Parsing rules save you time and reduce data entry by keeping your leads organized automatically. If a lead email isn’t being captured correctly, it could mean the format has changed. This article explains how you can add or edit /adjust rules for a lead source.
Types of Rules:
- Text Rules - Text rules extract values from message text.
- Header Rule - Extract a field out of one of the email's headers
- HTML Rule - Extract a field out of the HTML Body
- HTML Metadata Rule - Extract a field out of the HTML meta fields
- Copy Rule - Copy the value from another rule result.
- Constant Rules - Use a predefined value such as a segment, tag, or custom field.
Advanced Rule Settings:
- Output Mappings - Map values pulled from the email to the correct field and value used in your Cloze account. Output mappings can be applied to rules.
