How do I import contacts into Cloze?
If you'd like help with your import, please email the file to us at support@cloze.com and we can import the file for you.
If you would like to import your contacts yourself, please follow the steps below:
Step 1: Prepare your spreadsheet
Step 1: Prepare Your Spreadsheet
Before importing, make sure your file is formatted correctly.
- Use CSV, Excel, or vCard format
- The first row should contain column headers (like First Name, Email)
- Each row = one contact, each column = a field
Tip: Start with a small sample (2–3 contacts) to test your file before importing.
Step 2. Upload and Review Your Data
1.) In your Cloze account:
- Tap on More (...) in the lower left on your computer (cloze.com).
- Select Settings.

2.) Scroll down to the Import / Export section, tap on Import, and then upload your spreadsheet.

3.) Once uploaded, Cloze will analyze your file and show a mapping summary.

Here’s what to review:
- Mapped columns – ready to import
- Unmapped columns – need attention
- Invalid values – may cause errors
You can:
- Edit the mapping
- Save your mapping for future imports
- Load a different mapping if needed
A mapping connects your spreadsheet columns to Cloze fields (like matching “Email” to email).
Step 3: Import Your Contacts

If Cloze does not detect any issues with the mapping, tap Import and choose one of the following:
- Dry Run (Recommended first)
- Checks your data without importing
- Lets you fix any issues
- Import
- Validates and imports your contacts
- Provides a file of rejected rows if needed
