Link Styles
For the Links style, there are several options to set:
- Link Style - set bold, italic, underline, and color for the default link style.
- While Hovering - set bold, italic, underline, and color for the default link style while hovering.
You can set four (4) unique link styles. This is helpful if you are using links or contact merge fields that might be converted to links by an email client (e.g., email addresses or phone numbers) on multiple different background colors.
Pro Tip: Why your links may not look right (and how Cloze helps)
When you send an email, the recipient's email app—like Apple Mail, Gmail, or Outlook—may automatically turn things like phone numbers, email addresses, or website URLs into clickable links. The problem? These apps often apply their own styles to those links, which can clash with your design.
On a white background, this may not be a big deal. But on a dark background, it can look off—or even make your links invisible if the text color matches the background.
The best way to make sure your contact info looks good and matches your design is to format those links yourself before sending. In Cloze, contact info often comes from merge fields (i.e. in email signatures), which are just plain text. That means email apps may apply their own unpredictable styles.
How Cloze solves this problem:
- When adding or editing a link in Marketing Mail, you can now choose from four link style options to ensure your contact info stays visible and polished on any background.
- For merge fields with email, phone, or URL data types, you’ll see an extra option to control how those links appear—so everything looks clean, consistent, and on-brand.
When adding or editing a link in a marketing mail, you now have the choice of which link style to use:
Merge Field Links
Merge fields that are predefined email, phone, or URL data types have an additional option when creating or editing the field:
