Random Amount of Time - Campaign "Wait For" settings

Note: The Cloze Campaigns feature is included as part of the Cloze Business Platinum Plan.

There are several types of wait options that can be automated with a Campaign. For example, a Campaign can automatically wait for a random amount of time before continuing to the next step.

Waiting a random amount of time allows you to pick a date range for an email to be sent rather than a specific date.

This will help reduce the chance that contacts receive the same email from multiple agents in a brokerage at the same time.

For example: If your brokerage sends a "Fall Home Tips" email, you can set it to go out within 2 weeks after September 1st instead of on one fixed date. Each agent's copy sends on a different day within that window. The email still arrives in the fall, but if 5 agents share the same contact, that person won't get 5 identical emails at the same moment. That lowers the chance of spam flags and unsubscribes.

Add the Wait step

  1. Tap on the + icon
  2. Tap on Wait and select Random Amount of Time

  1. Select the step by tapping on it and then choose the number of days to wait.

  1. Choose to have the emails send during the work day and then select the random timeframe during the day to trigger the email to send.

Putting it Together

Using a random wait in a repeating campaign

If your campaign repeats (for example, a monthly email), put the email send inside a branch and set the loop to return to the start of that branch, not the start of the campaign.

Here's why. A random wait gives each contact a different send date, so contacts shared by several agents don't get the same email from everyone on the same day. If the loop goes back to the start of the campaign, the random wait runs again every cycle. The contact's send date then shifts each month, and the time between emails becomes unpredictable.

When the loop returns to the start of a branch instead, the random wait only runs once, when the contact first enters the campaign. After that, the contact gets the email on about the same day each cycle.

Setup:

  1. Add the random wait (for example, up to 14 days).
  2. Add a time branch after it. Set it to [confirmed setting] so every contact goes through.
  3. Inside the branch, add the email send, then a wait of [1 month].
  4. Set the loop to go back to the start of the branch.

The branch doesn't filter anyone out. Its only job is to give the loop a starting point that comes after the random wait.
