What is a Business Segment?

Within Cloze you will find many ways to organize your relationships. Cloze includes two primary types of Segments: Business Segments and Personal Segments.

If you are using Cloze with your team, contact information for Business Segments can be shared with your team. Timeline activities (like calls, emails, meetings, notes,etc..) can also be shared with your team in a variety of ways

Business Segments include:
  • Customers - People you sell to or deliver services to
  • Partners - People that help you sell, deliver services or run your organization
  • Suppliers - Companies that you buy from
  • Investors - People that invest in you or your organization
  • Advisers - People that advise, counsel or mentor you
  • Competitors - People that you compete against
  • Coworkers - People that work in your organization
  • Buyers - real estate industry-specific: People buying a property
  • Sellers - real estate industry-specific: People selling a property
  • Buyers & Sellers - real estate industry-specific: People buying and selling a property at the same time
  • Custom - A custom type of relationship
  1. Segment - The Segment shows who that person is to you
  2. Stage - The Stage shows where they are on the client journey with you
  3. Next Step - The Next Step is the next task to ensure the person advances to the next Stage

In the above example, the contact is classified as a Warm Buyer. Buyer is the Business Segment and Warm is the Stage.

In the Customizations section of Settings, you can customize the Segment labels that are displayed in Cloze. There are several default and custom labels that can be changed to suit your needs.

Cloze offers several pre-built customizations that you can select as well.

Creating Stageless Segments

There may be specific examples when a contact needs to be organized but they do not fit into a stage. They are a pool of people that you need to organize in some way.

For example, maybe you have clients or recruits that are not even warm yet. You have not had any contact with them and have not tried to contact them.

1.) Tap on Add Business Segment or Add Personal Segment.

2.) Tap on New segment without stages.

3.)  On this next screen:

    1. Name the Segment
    2. Adjust your Keep in Touch reminders
    3. Tap on the back arrow once you have adjusted all of the information

How do I reorder segments?

Tap and hold the three lines next to a Segment, then drag and drop it to reorder the list.

Custom Fields

You can also add Custom Fields to your Business Segments to help your further classify your People, Companies and Projects (or Deals).

Custom Fields are available in all Stages of a single Segment or can be limited to specific Stages or specific Segments. When enabled, Custom Fields appear below the Relationship section for People and Companies and below the Project (or Deal) Status section.
